Nov. 30, 2005

Final Stats

MAGNOLIA, ARK. - A&M-Commerce extended their winning streak to four games, by sweeping the season series with Southern Arkansas 71-63. It was the second time this season that the Lions (5-1,0-0) and Muleriders met.

Last week in Commerce, the Lions defeated the Muleriders 65-62 to win their first home game of the season and take the all-time series lead, 14-13.

In another hard fought battle between both institutions, it was A&M-Commerce dominating the majority of the game. The Muleriders who were down by as many as nine points came back with 4:37 left on the clock when Reggie Tims hit a three-point shot to tie the game at 53. The Lions came back and scored eight unanswered points to take control for good en route to the 71-63 victory.

Chris Fantroy led all scorers with 18 points and scored the team's first six. He also posted a team high of eight rebounds, leaving him just two boards shy of a double-double. Lamar Searight chipped in 17 points, 15 of which came in the second half. Jermart Miller recorded his sixth consecutive double-digit scoring effort with 12 points.

The Muleriders leading scorer Kenny Langhorne, who was averaging 19.3 points per game was held to his lowest output of the season, five.

Brandon White led SAU for night scoring a total of 14 points. He was a perfect six-for-six from the free throw line on the evening.

The Lions shot 57% from the floor and 71% from the charity stripe recording their fourth consecutive victory.
