Texas A&M-Commerce opened the game on a 10-0 run en route to a 102-83 win over Cameron on Thursday night at the A&M-Commerce Field House.

The Lions (10-10, 3-2 LSC North) had six players in double figures, including all five starters in the win. Junior Champ Sylvester scored a team-high 19 to pace the Lions, Lamar Searight and Kevin Widemond each scored 16, Bobby Joshua added 14 and Lance Jackson poured in 12 in the win. Texas A&M-Commerce shot a season-high 60% (39-for-65) from the field, including a blistering 65.7% (23-for-35) in the second half. The Aggies (11-9, 2-4 LSC North) got 29 points from Matthew Reid and 21 from Joseph Bolden in the loss.

After starting the contest on a 10-0 run, the Lions cooled off and the Aggies worked their way back into the game. Trailing 25-12 with 12:02 left in the first half, Cameron came back with an 18-4 run to take a 30-29 advantage, 10 of the points came from Reid. After a Searight jumper put the Lions back in front 31-30 with 5:58 left in the opening stanza, Texas A&M-Commerce never trailed again.

The Lions had a seven-point lead at the halftime break, 44-37. Widemond led Texas A&M-Commerce with 13 points as they shot 53.3% from the field in the first 20 minutes. The 53.3% is the highest percentage for the Lions in an opening half on the season. The Aggies shot 41.45 and got 16 points from Reid in the first half.

Texas A&M-Commerce opened the second half, like it did the first half, on a 12-3 run to go in front, 56-40 with 17:30 left in the game. The Aggies cut the Lions lead to eight, 64-56, with 12:24 remaining before Texas A&M-Commerce scored 22 of the next 31 points for a 21-point advantage with 6:23 left in the contest. The Lions eclipsed the 100-point mark for the first time on the season when Jackson made the first of two free throws with 3:10 left in the contest.

The Lions will take to the road for their next game as they travel to Weatherford, Oklahoma to face Southwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday at 4 pm.
