LION MEN FINISH 5TH IN CHAMPIONSHIPS

WEATHERFORD, Okla. - The Texas A&M University-Commerce men and women's cross-country team competed at the Lone Star Conference Championships on Saturday, finishing fifth and tenth place overall, respectively.

For the Lion men, who are ranked tenth in the South Central region, senior Ryan Dirickson finished with a twelfth place finish overall, with the time of 27:33 on the 8000 meter course. Following Dirickson, freshman Michael Snowden placed sixteenth with the time of 27:48 on the course. Lion teammates, Caleb Reynolds and Logan Bowman finished placing 23rd and 24th with times of 28:28 and 28:29, while Matthew Snowden finished with a time of 29:35.

The women of A&M-Commerce finished tenth overall in Weatherford, being led by Niki Williams with a time of 24:10 on the course, finishing 11th individually. Kara Bickel placed 36th overall with the time of 25:42, while Heather Eaton and sister Andra Bickel placed 59th and 73rd with the times of 29:08, and 30:59.

The winners of the meet for were the men and women of Abilene Christian with the top placing runners of the meet Trina Cox who won the women's competition with a 21:31 finish and Nicademus Naimadu finished with the time of 26:25 for the men.
