Tyler Tyndell Named Lone Star Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week

On Thursday, Texas A&M University-Commerce sophomore Tyler Tyndell was named the Lone Star Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week.
Last week, the Paris, Texas nave led the Texas A&M-Commerce team to a 12th-place finish at the Brooks Memphis Twilight XC Meet, where they finished ahead of three NCAA South Regional ranked teams -- No. 3 Alabama-Huntsville (they were 13th), No. 5 Columbus State (they were 22nd), No. 9 Christian Brothers (they were 18th) in the NCAA South Regional Rankings and previously ranked No. 10 Northwest Missouri State (they were 16th) at the Brooks Memphis Twilight. At the meet, Tyndell was the fifth NCAA Division II runner, 20th among collegiate runners and 29th overall at the race in a time of 25:33.30 to lead the Lions. He has been the top finisher for A&M-Commerce in all four meets in 2007. Tyndell and the A&M-Commerce men's cross country team are ranked No. 10 in the latest United States Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association South Central Regional Poll. Next, the Lions will host the Lone Star Conference Championships at Eddie Moore Park in Commerce on Saturday, Oct. 20.
