Nov. 15, 2006 First-year Laura Kromann (Austin, TX/Bowie HS) headlines Southwestern University's three selections to the SCAC All-Conference team as the Newcomer of the Year. Kromann received four votes, twice as many as any other candidate, for the newcomer award and is the first Southwestern women's soccer player to earn one of the conference's major postseason awards. The first-year was also a First Team All-SCAC selection after scoring four goals and three assists. She finished third on the team with 11 points. Senior Lindsey Abel (Spring, TX/Klein Oak HS) makes her fourth-consecutive appearance as an All-Conference performer, this year being named to the Second Team. Abel had one goal and three assists this season with her one goal being a game-winner. Sophomore Casey Grier (Spring, TX/Klein Collins HS) was a Third Team All-SCAC selection. She led the team in scoring with seven goals and three assists for 17 total points. Her seven goals tied for ninth in the conference. Last year, Grier was a Second Team All-SCAC honoree.
