The Southwestern University women's golf team improved to second during the final round of play on Tuesday (Oct. 2) at the UMHB Lady Crusader Fall Invitational in Temple, TX. Junior Marisa Mauldin (Utopia, TX/Utopia HS) vaulted from tied for ninth to second place as she shot the lowest round of the day, firing a 154 (81-73) for tournament and finishing two strokes off the lead. Tied for seventh was Kristen Davenport (Mansfield, TX/Mansfield HS) after shooting 163 (79-84). Sophomore Cody Wallace (Austin, TX/Lake Travis HS) lowered her scored by seven strokes for a two-round tally of 169 (88-81) and 14th place. Next for the pirates was Victoria Dominguez (Bastrop, TX/Bastrop HS) in a tie for 17th with a score of 174 (86-88). Junior Jenny Howell (Houston, TX/Jersey Village HS) cam in 34th with a 185 (92-93). The women have just one tournament left in the fall season, October 15 and October 16 in Spring Branch, TX at the Trinity University Invitational.
