The SU women's golf team closed out play at the St. Edward's Invitational at the Golf Club at Circle C on Tuesday (Mar. 6) in Austin, TX by moving up one spot by shooting 338 on the day. Delilah Dominguez (Bastrop, TX/Bastrop HS) was the Bucs' top finisher for the second-straight tournament this spring. The sophomore shot 163 (80-83) for the tournament and tied for 14th place. Marisa Mauldin (Utopia, TX/Utopia HS) finished tied for 34th with a 169 (85-84). First-year Kristen Davenport (Mansfield, TX/Mansfield HS) rose from 64th after day one to 51st by firing a two-round tally of 173 (90-83). Brittni Pine (The Woodlands, TX/The Woodlands HS) shot a 181 (91-90) while Cody Wallace (Austin, TX/Lake Travis HS) also finished with 181 (93-88). The two first-years tied for 70th. The Pirates totaled 684 (346-338) for the tournament and finished 40 strokes behind winner St. Edward's University (644). Rounding out the top-five were Tarleton State University (652), Northeastern State University (653), Cameron University (658), Drury University (661) and St. Martin's University (661). SU was one of just two NCAA Division III schools in the tournament along with the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. UMHB finished in 11th place, 11 strokes (695) behind the Pirates.
