The SU men's soccer team closed out the regular season on Saturday (Nov. 4) with a 1-0 loss to #2 Trinity University in Georgetown, TX. In a very even matchup, Trinity snuck a goal past SU goalkeeper Ryan Tasin (Georgetown, TX/Georgetown HS) to go up 1-0 during the 40th minute. In the second period, Southwestern had scoring opportunities but could not quite get the ball in the net. The shot totals were 13-9 in favor of Trinity and the Tigers also held a 10-2 advantage in corner kicks. Tasin made six saves for the Pirates. The regular season ends for Southwestern with an overall record of 11-7-1, 6-2-1 in conference play. The Pirates finished in second place in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, the best-ever finish for the men's soccer program. SU Sports Information |
