On the first night of competition at the Miami University Invite, the Pirate women started off their meet with a bang. The 800 freestyle relay of Sam Kessler (Austin, TX/Westwood HS), Alana Bergfield (Dhahran, Saudi Arabia/The Cranbrook School), Bailey Thompson (Garland, TX/Garland HS) and Jessie Carrier (Victoria, TX/St. Joseph HS) placed 10th with a time of 8:05.02, breaking the old school record by over 8.5 seconds.

The Pirates are competing against primarily NCAA Division I competition at the meet as well as a few Division II and Division III institutions. The meet continues on Friday (Nov. 30) and Saturday (Dec. 1).
