Week Three (Sept. 07-14, 2003):
The Southwestern Athletic Conference congratulates Jennifer
Williams (DS/L, 5-
7, Jr., DeSoto, TX) of Jackson State as Volleyball Player of
the Week. Williams
had a total of 85 digs (4.05 avg.) for the week. Williams also
recorded double digit
digs four times throughout the week. Williams had 29 digs against
Hampton
University, which earned her MVP honors in the Alabama State
Lady Hornet
Invitational Sept. 12-13, 2003.
Other Notable Performances for week three:

The Lady Tigers of Jackson State captured first place honors
in the 20th
Alabama State Lady Hornet Invitational Sept. 12-13, 2003 in
Montgomery,
AL. Defensive Specialist Jennifer Williams was named Tournament
MVP,
and Hitter Cara Jones was named to the All- Tournament team.

Verita White (OH/MB) of Jackson State had 86 kills (3.44 avg.)
for the week
and had 19 kills against Gambling State. She recorded double
digit kills five
times for the week.

Denetia Carline (S) of Jackson State had 129 assists (5.16
avg. ) over the
week including 32 assists against Hampton University. She recorded
20-
plus assists 3 times for the week.

Kneckie Stallsworth (RH) of Alabama A&M had a total of
23 kills (2.73
avg.) for the week.

Angela Santiago (S) of Texas Southern led her team in kills
against Rice
University and had the highest hitting percentage of her team
against Dillard
University.
