Southern’s Jamye Roberts Earns Player of the Year Honors

Southern’s Jamye Roberts (RHP, 5-6, So., Stone Mountain, GA)
earns Player of the Year honors for the 2004 Softball All-SWAC Team.
Roberts was also selected as a First Team Pitcher, and First Team second
base. Other players receiving multiple honors are: Tyeah Patterson
(OF, 5-9, Jr., Pascagoula, MS) of Alabama State (Outfield, Offensive
Player of the Year), and Queydreka Shumpert (SS, 5-7, Sr., Tupelo,
MS) of Mississippi Valley State (Shortstop, Defensive Player of the
Year). The All-SWAC Team is chosen by votes from the Softball Head
Coaches and Sports Information Directors.
