trio of SWAC teams remain in the Sheridan Sports Network Black College Football
Poll after the first week of the season.
Southern,
Grambling State, and defending SWAC Champion Jackson State rank 7-8-9, despite each
losing their season openers. The Jaguars got 83 voting points, GSU 62, and
Jackson State 41.
Prairie View
against just missed being in the Top 10, but earned one first-place vote and 33
points. Alabama A&M fell out of the Top 10, but did receive 14 points.
