Volleyball Season Ends in 3-0 Defeat to Webber in Regional Tournament

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The St. Thomas University women's volleyball season ended in Daytona Beach, participating in the Florida Sun Conference/Region XIV tournament, losing to the number 3 seed Webber International Warriors 3-0 (22-30, 26-30, 26-30).

Game 1 went to the Warriors 30-22. The match was close, but a 9-2 run with the score at 16-14 broke the game open for Webber. Ashlee Guerrero had five kills and Liz Harney had 13 assists in the game.

St. Thomas lost a close game 2 by a score of 30-26. Trailing 28-22, the Lady Bobcats cut the six point deficit to two, but were unable to tie the game.

Down 20-14 in game 3, St. Thomas had an 8-0 run, including consecutive aces by Guerrero, to give STU their first lead of the entire match at 22-20. Webber erased the lead with a 7-1 run and the game 30-26.

Ashlee Guerrero led the Lady Bobcats with 10 kills. Liz Harney contributed with 29 assists and Nicole Hubbard had 13 digs. Webber's Cindy Eurie had 11 kills to lead the match.

St. Thomas ends the season with a 4-19 record.
