Stony Brook, NY -- - After posting a 9-4 record in its inaugural season at the Division I level last season, the question became what would the women's tennis team do for an encore. How about a 4-0 start to the 2000-2001 season in which the Seawolves have posted three shutouts.

On Saturday, Stony Brook defeated Drexel and Siena in convincing 7-0 fashion to win the Stony Brook 4-way tournament.

Delquin Gong and Deanna Ghozati posted the most dramatic singles wins against Drexel. At the number three spot, Ghozati won the deciding third set, 10-7 in the tiebreaker. Gong went even further in her match at fourth singles, winning the tiebreaker in the third set, 13-11.

Martha Barrett, Barbara Affertsholt, Lindsey Prince and Esther Forrester won their respective singles matches in straight sets. The Seawolves only loss in the match came in first doublws where Barrett and Price fell, 8-5.

The Seawolves capped off the weekend with a 7-0 win over Siena, not losing a single set in the match.
