Women's Tennis Breezes by Queens College 6-1

Stony Brook, N.Y. - The Stony Brook women's tennis team closed out its regular season with a 6-1 victory over Queens College at University Courts on Tuesday afternoon. With the win, the Seawolves improved to 11-10 overall on the season.

Stony Brook picked up the doubles point with victories at the No. 1 slot from the team of Anne Cathrine Valle and Georgia Bushell and at No. 2 from Lauren Conching and Victoria Vasile. The Seawolves then swept the top five singles slots, while defaulting at No. 6. Valle, Bushell, Conching, Vasile and Olesya Ianovitch each picked up wins at No. 1 through No. 5, respectively, to give SB the match.

The match served as the final home contest for seniors Bushell, Conching and Ianovitch.

The Seawolves return to aciton Friday through Sunday when they compete in the 2004 America East Tennis Championships at Yale University in New Haven, Conn.
