Women's Tennis Records Wins Over Albany And New Hampshire

Stony Brook, N.Y. - The Stony Brook women's tennis team recorded a pair of conference victories on Friday, sweeping Albany, 6-0, and then knocking off New Hampshire 5-2. With the wins, Stony Brook improved to 9-7 on the season.

In the early match, Stony Brook stormed to a 6-0 decision behind singles victories from Anne Cathrine Valle (6-1, 6-1), Georgia Bushell (6-1, 6-2), Lauren Conching (6-3, 6-0), Victoria Vasile (6-0, 6-0) and Ashley Ward (7-6, 6-0).

In the second match, the Seawolves continued their fine play with a 5-2 victory over the Wildcats. Valle teamed with Bushell to win at No. 1 doubles (8-6) while Conching and Vasile helped SB take the doubles point with a 8-4 decision.

Valle went to 3-0 on the day, winning at No. 1 singles (7-5, 6-3) over New Hampshire's Megan Breen. Bushell (6-2, 7-6), Conching (6-3, 7-5) and Olesya Ianovitch (6-3, 6-1) also won their singles matches.
