Hempstead, NY -- - Stony Brook (5-5) won eight of nine matches and cruised to its fifth win of the season, defeating Hofstra Wednesday afternoon, 7-0. The win snapped a five-match losing streak by the Seawolves.

Karen Hansen won her first match as a Seawolf, defeating Vesna Jacesic, 5-7, 6-3, 6-0 at the #4 single spot. Martha Barrett, Barbara Affertsholt, Deanna Ghozati, Esther Forrester and Olesya Ianovitch all won their respective singles matches, as well.

The Seawolves host Wagner this afternoon at 3:00 p.m.
