Women's Tennis Falls to Dartmouth, 6-1

Hanover, N.H. - The Stony Brook women's tennis team fell 6-1 to Dartmouth on Saturday morning. With the loss, the Seawolves fall to 2-1 on the season. Hana Chovanova paired up with Sandy Wijeratne to get the dual match started off with a Stony Brook win, as the duo bested Winningham and Zabrovski, 8-1. Anne Catherine Valle and Erica Federgreen lost a tight match 8-6 to Jaxheimer and Scott, before Victoria Vovsha and Victoria Vasile fell at No.3 doubles, 8-2. After claiming the doubles point, Dartmouth grabbed five of the six singles matches to wrap up the match for the Big Green. Valle was the sole winner in singles, as the senior rolled to the 6-1, 6-2 victory. The Seawolves lost three hard-fought matches at lines four through six, as Federgreen lost 6-2, 6-7, 6-4, Monica Myers fell at line five, 6-2, 4-6, 7-5 and at No. 6, Vovsha was edged in three sets, 6-4, 3-6, 6-0. The women return to action tomorrow, when the Seawolves take on Connecticut at 9:00 a.m.
