Hamilton, N.Y. - The Stony Brook women's tennis team kicked off the spring season with a 6-1 loss to Colgate on Saturday.

The doubles team of Martha Barrett and Karen Hansen earned a hard fought 9-8 (7-4) win over Colgate in SB's lone win at doubles. Hansen added to her winning ways with a 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 three-set win over Lindsey Suffredini for the Seawolves lone win at singles.

The loss drops Stony Brook's record to 4-1 on the year.
