Brookline, Ma. - Jackie Spellman's goal at the 55:09 mark proved to be the deciding factor as Northeastern defeated the Seawolves 1-0 in a chilly Friday night America East match-up in Massachusetts.

Stony Brook falls to 6-7-3, 3-3, while the Huskies improve to 10-4-2, 4-1-1.

Ten minutes into the second half, Filippa Petruccelli tapped the ball to Spellman, thirty yard from the goal. Spellman's shot slipped past Stony Brook goalie, Cindy Bennett, to give the Huskies the advantage. Bennett finished with six saves. Northeastern goalkeeper, Mariel Wilner, turned away six Stony Brook shots.

The Seawolves are back in action Sunday in Boston for a 1:00 p.m. match-up with Boston University.
