Leggio Earns Weekly Honors

March 19, 2007

Stony Brook, N.Y. - Sophomore midfielder Kaitlin Leggio has been named the America East Player of the Week and the Stony Brook Athlete of the Week after she led the Seawolves to a pair of victories last week. The Seawolves currently stand at 5-1 and are off to the best start in program history. For the week, Leggio tallied five goals and five assists for a 10-point week.

In the Seawolves 16-12 victory at Sacred Heart, Leggio recorded two goals and three assists in the win. Her assist to Emily Jaissle proved to be the game-winner in the contest. On Sunday, Leggio paced the Seawolves offense in SB's 12-6 win over Monmouth. The Bay Shore, N.Y. native found the back of the cage three times and added a pair of assists in the victory. For the season, Leggio leads the team with 24 points on 12 goals and 12 assists.

Leggio and the Seawolves travel to take on Siena on Tuesday afternoon at 4:00 p.m.
