Fan Bus Headed to Women's Basketball NIT Game at Hofstra

March 14, 2006

Stony Brook, N.Y. - The Stony Brook Athletics Department has announced that a free fan bus will be heading to the women's basketball team's WNIT game at Hofstra on Wednesday evening. The Seawolves take on the Pride at 7 p.m. with the bus departing for the game from the Indoor Sports Complex at 5 p.m. Please call (631) 632-9556 to register for the bus. Fans will be responsible for purchasing game tickets.

Tickets will be available at the Hofstra ticket office prior to the game. Adult tickets are $8 while youth and student tickets will be $4 apiece. The winner of Wednesday night's game will move on to face Villanova in Villanova, Pa., on Saturday.

The women's basketball team earned a postseason berth for the first time in its Division I history. With the selection, the Seawolves have earned the chance to continue their record-setting season. With a 20-9 overall record, Stony Brook posted a Division I school record for wins in a season while improving from a 20-loss season just a year ago, which is good for the second-best turnaround in all of NCAA Division I women's basketball.
