The Stony Brook men's tennis team will be the top seed, while the women's squad will be seeded third, at the America East Men's and Women's Tennis Championships held this weekend at the Connecticut Tennis Center in New Haven, Conn., as announced by America East Conference on Monday afternoon.

The Men's and Women's Tennis Championships are team-match format with the finals scheduled to be held on Sunday at noon. Both team champions receive automatic bids to the NCAA Tournament.

On the men's side, the Seawolves (18-2, 5-0 AE) will have a bye to the semifinals where they will face the winner of No. 4 Boston University vs. No. 5 Hartford at noon on Saturday.

The women (11-10, 4-2 AE) begin play on Friday at noon when they face No. 6 Vermont. If they advance, they'll face the winner of the match between No. 2 UMBC and No. 7 Hartford on Saturday at noon. A first-round loss would send them to a date with the loser of the UMBC-Hartford match at 9 a.m.

First-round matches begin Friday morning and Saturday is highlighted by semifinal matches. The men's and women's championships are Sunday at noon.
