West Point, NY -- - Stony Brook (5-1) men's tennis opened the spring season right where it left off in the fall, but this time the implications were much bigger. The Seawolves won five of six single matches at West Point and stunned regionally ranked Connecticut Sunday afternoon at Army, 5-2.

Jens-Pillgram Larsen won his 13th consecutive singles match, defeating Mike Furman at the #1 spot, 6-4, 6-4. Egil Anonsen, Nandor Veres, Phil Amireault and David Hewitt all won their respective singles matches to preserve the win.

The Seawolves came into the singles competition down 1-0 as the Huskies - ranked 15th in the region - won all three doubles matches.

In the final match of the day, the Seawolves fell to Army, 7-0. The Cadets - ranked 8th regionally - won every match except at #1 doubles where Pillgram-Larsen and Anonsen won, 8-5.

Pillgram-Larsen had his 13-match winning streak snapped.

The Seawolves take on Princeton Thursday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. in New Jersey.
