Palacio Named Second Team All-Northeast Region

Nov. 29, 2006

Mission, Kan. - For the second consecutive year, midfielder Michael Palacio (Long Beach, N.Y./Long Beach) has been named to the Men's Division I All-Northeast Region Second-Team, it was announced on Wednesday.

The Midfielder of the Year in the America East Conference, Palacio led Stony Brook in assists with four and added two goals. For the second consecutive year, Palacio was named first-team all-conference.

This is the third consecutive year in which a Stony Brook men's soccer student-athlete has received a regional honor. In 2004 and 2005, Chris Megaloudis was named first-team and second-team, respectively. In 2004, Douglas Narvaez was named to the first team.

The NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America) Division I Northeast region consists of teams from the America East, Ivy League and nine of the 16 schools in the Big East Conference.
