New York, N.Y. - The men's distance medley relay team advanced to the final at the IC4A Championships over the weekend, recording Stony Brook's best finish at the championships in school history.

Stony Brook's team of Mike Thompson, Chris Hunt, Dave deWolfe and Jonathan Brims set a new school record in the DMR with a time of 10:03.93 to qualify for the final. SBU came in sixth place for three points, the highest Stony Brook has finished at IC4As.

Craig Matuza competed in the shot put, but his throw of 49 feet, 1 inch failed to qualify for the final.

In the ECAC Championships, Jenny Payne came in 12th in the 5000m with a time of 17:32.80, just four seconds short of her personal best.
