SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Saint Louis junior John Campbell (Aberdeen, S.D./Watertown) finished among the top 10 to lead the Billikens to eighth place in the SMS Fall Invitational at Rivercut Golf Course with a combined score of 924. Campbell posted the team's low scores in both the second and third rounds, shooting 78, 70 and 76 to end up at 224 (+8) for the 54-hole tournament.

Behind Campbell, junior David Perritt opened the tournament with a 75 and followed with a 77 in Monday's action. He finished the tournament in 29th place after a final-round 79. Senior Evan Frederick continued his struggles this season, sandwiching a 74 between first and third-round 80s to finish 38th in the 68-golfer tournament. Junior Barry O'Neill battled the course to 44th place, shooting 77, 81 and 78. Freshman Adam Serrano rounded out the Billiken team with rounds of 84, 85 and 79 to finish 64th.

Overall, host SMS won the team title, finishing 10 strokes ahead of second-place Southeast Missouri State. The Bears' Austin Hackett claimed individual medalist honors at 210 (-6) with steady rounds of 71, 69 and 70. Hackett finished five stroked ahead of SEMO's Matt Hillis.

The Billikens return to action on Sat., Oct. 23, at the Oral Roberts Shangrila Shootout.
