Paine Named to ESPN the Magazine Academic All-Dictrict Two Second Team
Nov. 7, 2005 PHILADELPHIA - Coming off one of the best offensive season's in Saint Joseph's women's soccer history, senior forward Alisha Paine became the first player in program history to be named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 2 Second Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). An elementary and special education major with a 3.342 grade-point-average, Paine posted team-bests in goals (nine), assists (five) and points (23). Making a move from the backfield to forward prior to the season, Paine finished the season third all-time in single-season goals, third in single-season points and tied for second in single-season assists. A four-year starter, Paine will graduate this May fourth all-time in program history in points (34), fifth in goals (13) and tied for seventh in assists (eight). Saint Joseph's 2005 season came to a close last Thursday, November 3, with a 2-1 loss to Dayton in the Atlantic 10 Championship quarterfinals. The Hawks, who posted a 8-9-3 overall record and 4-3-2 Atlantic 10 record, earned their third consecutive trip to the A-10 Championship this year.
