Queens, NY (November 19, 2004) - The St. John's Volleyball team was named to the 2004 Division I Regionally Ranked list by the American Volleyball Coaches Association, it was announced this week. This exclusive list includes the top Division I programs who have competed at the highest level against the toughest teams in the country.

"We are very excited and appreciative of this national recognition" said Head Volleyball coach Joanne Persico-Smith. "This is our second straight year and fourth time we have been recognized for this prestigious honor. This past season was the toughest schedule St. John's has put together since the program started in 1994."

St. John's (15-14 Overall) will host #11 Florida (22-3), Wake Forest (12-16) and Towson (22-7),(all who made the list) at the 2004 St. John's Volleyball Classic on November 26-27.
