Tina Fogg (Warick, R.I.) has been named ECAC Goalkeeper of the Week and also to Soccer Americas Elite Team. For the second time this season, junior
Courtney Rett (Valley Stream, N.Y.) was named to Soccer Buzzs Elite Team of the Week.
Rett also took home BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week accolades for helping the Red Storm to a 2-0-1 record last week. Rett and the Red Storm defense earned two shutouts and allowed just 11 shots in wins over Rutgers and Seton Hall. In St. Johns 1-1 tie with No. 14 Villanova, Rett recorded the game-tying goal.
Fogg went undefeated last week and was named BIG EAST, ECAC and Soccer America Goalkeeper of the Week. She allowed just one goal in 290 minutes of action. Fogg earned two shutouts in 1-0 wins over Rutgers and Seton Hall. She allowed her only goal of the week in a 1-1 tie with No. 14 Villanova, while making a career-high 15 saves. With two shutouts last week, Fogg became the all-time leader in career shutouts in St. Johns history.
The Red Storm (8-4-4, 2-3) conclude their regular season schedule with two home games this weekend. On Friday, October 25 at 4:00pm, St. Johns hosts Virginia Tech in a Northeast Division matchup. Georgetown comes to town on Sunday, October 27 for a 1:00pm kickoff with the Red Storm.
