Womens Soccer Falls to Notre Dame, 7-0
 

 
NOTRE DAME, IND. -- The St. Johns University womens soccer team had a two-game winning streak ended on Friday night, dropping a 7-0 decision to fifth-ranked Notre Dame, at Alumni Field in South Bend.

The loss drops the Red Storm to 4-7-0 overall and 3-3 in the BIG EAST Northeast Division. SJU is tied for third place with Miami, who lost 2-1 to Pittsburgh last night.

The Irish scored 27 seconds into the game and took a 3-0 lead at the half en route to the win.

Sophomore forward Melissa Tancredi beat St. Johns junior goalkeeper Tina Fogg (Warwick, R.I.) for the Irishs first goal, and Mia Sarkesian gave Notre Dame a 2-0 lead at the 9:19 mark.

Fogg finished with seven saves for St. Johns. The Red Storm were outshot, 25-3, and took only one corner kick to Notre Dames five.

St. Johns plays on Sunday at Loyola-Chicago at noon.
