Bensberg, Germany The 2001 BIG EAST Womens Basketball All-Stars, under the direction of Syracuse head coach Marianna Freeman, have improved to 3-0 on their six-game tour of Germany. The team defeated Bonn BBC, 86-72, on Wednesday and earned a 69-45 victory over Bensberg on Thursday.
In the second game of the tour, Georgetowns Rebekkah Brunson scored 18 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead the all-stars to their second win over Bonn BBC. Villanovas Trish Juhline added a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
In the third game, Bensberg led until 55 seconds were left in the first half. The BIG EAST team opened the second half with a 10-0 run. Leslie Ardon of Seton Hall was the high scorer with 13 points. Brunson had 10 points and six rebounds.
The BIG EAST return to action on Saturday.
