Red Storm Men's Tennis Upsets Nationally Ranked Air Force, 4-3

Queens, NY - The St. John's men's tennis team knocked off previously unbeaten and No. 72 ranked Air Force, 4-3 this afternoon in West Point, NY. The Red Storm are now 1-2 in the spring, while the Falcons fall to 8-1.

After taking the doubles point, the Red Storm and Falcons split the six singles matches giving St. John's their first win of the spring after over four and a half hours of tennis action.

Victorious in singles action for St. John's was sophomore Louis Desmarteaux (Thornhill, Ontario) at No. 1, classmate Claudio Halim (Jakarta, Indonesia) at No. 5 and senior Todd Goldberg (Ponoma, NY) at No. 6. It was Halim's match at No. 5, which gave the Red Storm the victory, as he won 7-5 in the deciding third set.
