Little Rock, Ark.- The St. Johns mens golf team was unable to complete its second round of play at Pleasant Valley Golf Course because of inclement weather in the Little Rock area. The Red Storm were scheduled to tee off at 1:00 p.m. when a three-hour rain delay moved their tee time back three hours to 4:00p.m. Golfers were called off the course at 6:15p.m. for a second time when the skies opened up and heavy rains ensued. St. Johns is currently tied for 21st place with the University of Houston at 29-over par.
Senior Jesse Fitzgerald (Sayville, N.Y.) and junior Andrew Svoboda (Stamford, Conn.) are currently tied for 44th place at three-over par. Svoboda is currently at even par for his second round and made birdie on two of the final three holes he played. Fitzgerald stood at one under-par for most of his round when a double bogie on his final hole moved him to one-over par for the day.
Senior Joe Saladino (Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y.) is currently tied for 81st place at seven-over par, while Kyle Sleasman (Loudonville, N.Y.) and John DeForest (Cottekill, N.Y.) are tied for 134th place at 18-over par.
The Red Storm will finish the final six holes of the second round before teeing off for the final round tomorrow at Pleasant Valley Golf Course. St. Johns needs to move into the top-10 to qualify for the NCAA Championships to be played on Ohio States Scarlet Course.
