Auburn, Ala.-- St. Johns senior golfer Andrew Svoboda (Stamford, Conn.) carded a second round score of four-over par 76 at the 2003 NCAA East Regional being played at Auburn University Golf Club in Auburn, Ala. Svoboda, who entered the day at even par, is tied for 54th at four-over par 148 for the three round event.

Svoboda started his second round with four straight pars before running into trouble at the par-four fifth hole. He gave up three stokes on the hole, carding a triple bogey seven. He would give back another two strokes with bogeys at nine and 13 to put him at five-over par with five holes left to play.

Svoboda was able to get a stroke back, with his only birdie on the day coming at the par-three 14th hole. He finished the round with one birdie, two bogeys, one triple bogey and 14 pars.

Svoboda tees off in the final round of the NCAA East Regional on Saturday, May 17. He needs to be one of the top two individuals not on a qualifying team to move onto the NCAA Championship.
