Bonnies claim three events in loss to Big East power Pitt

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - St. Bonaventure women's swimming and diving claimed first place in just three events en route to a 178-65 loss to Big East powerhouse Pittsburgh on Friday at Trees Pool. Making her first meet appearance of the season, sophomore Keri Vito took home the gold in both the one-meter and thee-meter boards with scores of 220. 43 and 223.35, respectively. Junior Anneli Johnson rounded out the Bona winners by taking the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:04.32. The Panthers depth allowed the Brown and White to grab just two individual second place finishes. Junior Taryn Ahern finished second in the 400 IM with in a time of 4:36. 42, while sophomore Allison Whalen's time of 1:00.57 was good for silver in the 100 butterfly. With the loss, the Bonnies are now 0-2 in dual meets on the season. St. Bonaventure will make its first appearance at the Reilly Center pool next Saturday, Nov. 4, when it hosts Cleveland St. The meet is scheduled for 1 p.m.
