Bona Women holding 6th place after Day two of Atlantic 10 Conference Championships

Buffalo, N.Y. - After the second night of competition at the Atlantic 10 Conference Swimming and Diving Championships, the Bona women maintain 6th place after a grueling day of races.

Richmond University is dominating the leader board with a score of 284. The University of Massachusetts trails with 201 points. Duquesne is in third place (168.5), La Salle is in fourth (145), followed by Fordham in fifth.

Freshman Allison Smith, junior Taryn Ahern and senior Danielle Grobmyer performed well in the 500-yard free, claiming eighth (5:12.30), tenth (5:06.82), and fourteenth place (5:12.43), respectively.

In the last event of the night, the Bonnies snagged a fifth place finish in the 200-yard relay with a time of 1:38.90. Swimming in the St. Bonaventure heat were Ahern, Smith, junior Meghan King and sophomore Kaitlyn Heller.

The Bonnies return to the water tomorrow, Feb. 23. Preliminaries begin at 10:30 a.m. with finals beginning at 6:30 p.m. Doors open at 9:15 a.m. The competition ends Saturday, Feb. 24.
