ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - Reinforcing their continuing commitment to academic achievement, St. Bonaventure's intercollegiate sports teams fared well in the latest NCAA Graduation Success Rate (GSR) report.

Ten St. Bonaventure teams that are included in the NCAA's data scored above the average for all Division I institutions, including six which have a perfect score of 100 percent.

The GSR scores for St. Bonaventure's sports teams are as follows: golf, 100; softball, 100; women's basketball, 100; women's lacrosse, 100; women's soccer, 100; women's tennis, 100; baseball, 92; men's soccer, 91; women's swimming, 89; men's swimming, 88; men's basketball, 80; and men's tennis, 67.

"We are pleased with our academic achievements outlined in the NCAA's Graduation Success Report," said Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Ron Zwierlein. "We feel that the GSR is a very good performance indicator for all NCAA institutions and I am proud that our teams fared so well as compared to the national averages." The GSR is different from the Federal Graduation Rate because the GSR includes student-athletes who transfer in and out of schools while the Federal does not.

The report includes only student-athletes who received athletic scholarships. Student-athletes are allotted a six-year window in which to graduate.

The NCAA's release of the GSR data includes team rates only, not an aggregate rate for each institution. The aggregate rates will be released by the NCAA later this year.
