All-American: 200 back - 2006

Stanford Record Book: 200 back, 8th (1:56.80 - 2006)

As a Junior in 2007-08: Finished seventh in the 200 back at the Pac-10 Championships (1:59.02)...also added a 19th-place finish in the 100 back (56.59)...first team Pac-10 All-Academic selection...posted the best GPA of any Stanford student-athlete, and earned the Stanford Scholar Athlete Award.

As a Sophomore in 2006-07: Participated in three finals at the Pac-10 Championships, highlighted by a sixth-place finish in the 200 back with a time of 1:58.48...also finished 18th in the 100 back (56.08) and 23rd in the 100 fly (56.32)...named to the Pac 10 All-Academic First Team...earned the Stanford Scholar Athlete Award.

As a Freshman in 2005-06: Earned All-American honors after finishing 13th in the 200 back at the NCAA Championships (1:57.78)...was also part of Stanford's ninth-place 200 medley relay team at the NCAAs...placed fourth in the 200 back at the Pac-10 Championships with a time of 1:56.80, while finishing 10th in the 100 back (54.91) and 14th in the 100 fly (56.36)...was recipient of the Stanford Scholar Athlete Award.

International Competition Highlights: Was tabbed the USA Swimmer of the Meet at the 2001 Junior World Championships, held in Sydney, Australia...finished third in the 100 fly, fourth in the 200 fly and 14th in the 100 fly.

National Competition Highlights: Has swam in the last three U.S. Olympic Trials, participating in the 100-meter back, 200 back and 100 fly this past summer...finished 32nd in the 200 back in '08 (2:15.55) and was a semifinalist in the 200 back and 200 fly during the `04 Trials...has swam in Summer Senior Nationals from 2000-07.

High School, Club and Personal Data: Daughter of Tom and Jonna Axtell...also competes on the Stanford equestrian team, and was the 2008 regional champion...also placed third at the 2008 Zone Championships...graduated from James Bowie High School in Austin, Texas, where she was coached by Aaron Vohl...was a five-time Texas State Champion and 15-time high school All-American...owns four USA Swimming national age-group records...swam for Longhorn Aquatics in Austin under coach Randy Reese...has an aquatic family, as her father, Tom, was a national champion in the 100 back in 1970 and '71, and a 1972 Olympic Trials qualifier...mother, Jonna, was a state synchronized swimming champion at Carleton College...twin sister, Sarah, swims at Emory (Atlanta, Ga.) University, where she was the UAA Conference champion in both the 100 and 200 back...majoring in biology.
