AT STANFORD: Fifth-year senior slated to work with Pat Maynor and Max Bergen at outside linebacker...will also be a steady contributor on special teams...has made steady strides up the Cardinal depth chart after joining the team as a walk-on in 2004...versatile player who possesses good quickness with toughness...played wide receiver his first two seasons before moving over to defense prior to the 2006 season...named the Most Improved Player for Spring Football (Special Teams) last spring.

2007 (SENIOR): Appeared in 12 games and finished with four tackles, including two solo efforts...also was credited with one blocked kick...played on all four special teams units.

2006 (JUNIOR): Earned his first varsity letter as a reserve safety and as a member of the special teams unit...moved from receiver to safety prior to the season...saw action in 12 games...named the recipient of the Greg Piers Award as the team's Most Outstanding Offensive Service Team Player.

2005 (SOPHOMORE): Did not see any game action as a reserve wide receiver. 2004 (FRESHMAN): Did not see game action.

HIGH SCHOOL AND PERSONAL DATA: Played wide receiver and free safety at Burges High school in El Paso, Tex...led the city in receptions with 54 and was fourth in receiving yards with 611 as a senior...had 100 tackles as a free safety, including 76 solo efforts...three-year football letterwinner and also earned four letters in track and field...first team academic all-state selection 1-4A, honorable mention all-state 1-4A, first team all-district as a wide receiver and free safety, second team all-city as a receiver...served as team captain his senior season...outstanding track performer who was chosen all-district and District 1-4A Male Athlete of the Year...qualified for the regional meet three consecutive years...2004 district champion in the 200m dash...Burges HS earned top-rankings in El Paso during his junior and senior seasons...National Honor Society member, Who's Who Among American High School Students, class valedictorian, National Merit Block Achievement Award, Boys State Delegate, HOBY Youth Leadership Ambassador, Kodak Young Leaders and Who's Who Among African American High School Students were a few of his many academic and leadership honors...majoring in philosophy.
