General: A promising two-way player who could contribute significantly both on the mound and as a position player as early as this season • Has excellent power at the plate • Possesses a fastball on the mound that gets into the low 90's, as well as an excellent breaking ball • A very competitive player who is going to compete to be in the lineup as a position player as well as to get innings on the hill.

High School: A 2007 graduate of Franklin High School after attending Fossil Ridge High School for his freshmen and sophomore years • A two-sport letterwinner in baseball and football • In baseball, earned 2007 First Team All-District 1-5A honors and was named the 2007 City Most Valuable Player for El Paso when he hit .550 with 14 home runs as a senior • Twice chosen First Team All-City (2006, '07) • Selected to the 2006 Second Team All-District 1-5A • Led his team to the 2007 District title • As an offense guard in football, helped his team to the 2006 District title and the Elite 8 Texas state quarterfinals • Earned First Team All-District 1-5A, First Team All-City and Second Team All-Region honors on the gridiron as a senior in 2006 • Coached in baseball by Larry Vucan.
