    Amateur Summer Baseball - Had a great summer in 2003 with the Santa Barbara Foresters of the California Coastal Collegiate League, helping the squad to a 51-10-1 overall record and a runner-up showing at the National Baseball Congress World Series by going 3-1 with a 1.48 ERA and striking out 26 in 24.1 innings • Also played with the Foresters in the summer of 2002, posting an 0-1 record and a 5.41 ERA in limited action, while striking out 11 batters in his 6.0 innings of work • Spent the summer of 2001 with the Brewster Whitecaps of the Cape Cod League, posting an 0-0 record and a 6.46 ERA in nine appearances and 15.1 innings • Participated with the nation's top high school prospects on the USA Junior National Team that took second place at the 2000 World Championships in Canada • Also played on a Merced Legion team in 1998 that made the state tournament.
