Summer Ball: Played for Waterloo in the Northwoods League in 2009 ... had an excellent 2008 summer campaign with the Amsterdam Mohawks of the New York Collegiate Baseball League, batting .313 (26-for-83) with 14 runs, four doubles, four home runs and 19 RBIs in 23 games (22 starts) ... helped his club to the NYCBL playoffs, where he went 5-for-15 (.333) with four runs, one double and a solo home run in four contests... played for Menlo Park in the summer of 2010, batting .370 over 27 games with 27 runs, eight doubles and 10 RBIs for a .540 slugging percentage. Teammates with Kellen McColl and Jack Mosbacher.

Stanford Career: Over four seasons, played in 160 games with a .285 average with 67 runs, 25 career doubles, one triple and 12 homers... also drove in 49 runs as a catcher, outfielder, first baseman and designated hitter... stole 8-of-12 bases.

As a senior in 2011: Played in 45 games with 30 starts at designated hitter and 5 in left...finished career batting .245 with 22 runs and 14 RBIs, along with 10 doubles, one triple and four homers... named all-Fullerton Regional at DH, capping off the tournament with two, two-run homers (third and sixth innings) and two doubles in championship game versus Illinois (6/5)... hit .600 for the tournament... started season as primary designated hitter, losing spot by mid-April... two-run homer as part of 2-for-5 day with three runs v. Saint Mary's (3/29)... 2-for-3 with two runs, a walk and HBP against LBSU in opener (3/25)... two singles against UC Davis (3/21)... 2-for-4 in win over Santa Clara (3/1)... solo homer began back-to-back homers by him and Piscotty in win at No. 3 Vandy on Sunday (2/27)... three hits in series opener at Rice (2/18).

As a Junior in 2010: Appeared in 41 games with six starts at catcher and 11 in left field. Also started at designated hitter, batting .346 with 21 runs and 15 RBIs, posting two homers and six doubles as well ... also stole five of seven bases... did not make an error in 88 chances ... started last five games at catcher for an injured Zach Jones, which included the NCAA Tournament at CS Fullerton ... finished the season on an 11-game hit streak, going 2-for-5 with a two-run homer and a double in NCAA Regional opener versus New Mexico (6/4). Followed that up with a single at No. 4 CS Fullerton in elimination loss (6/5), starting both games at catcher ... drove in eight of his 15 runs over the last seven games ... first home run at No. 26 Arizona (5/22), a two-run shot. Also had an RBI double going 3-for-5. Also drove in a run with an RBI single next day at Arizona (5/23) ... three hits at UC Davis (3/5).

As a Sophomore in 2009: Rebounded from a slow start to finish the year batting .274 (37-for-135) with five doubles, three home runs and 11 RBIs in 46 games ... opened the year 5-for-33 (.152) in his first 10 games through March 8 ... after Stanford came back from its winter quarter finals break, batted .333 (34-for-102) over his final 36 contests, hitting safely in 24 ... made 21 official starts (12 at catcher and nine at designated hitter), but often pinch-hit in the DH spot during the first turn through the lineup ... tied his career high for hits and RBIs April 17 at Arizona State, going 3-for-4 while driving in three runs ... matched his career-high with a five-game hitting streak May 1-6, going 8-for-19(.421) with two homers ... in fact, hammered all three of his homers in a five-game, 15 at-bat stretch May 3-9 ... first longball was a solo shot in Stanford's 3-2 victory May 3 at Washington State, while last one came as second of back-to-back homers (following Brent Milleville's three-run shot) in 17-5 rout of New Mexico May 9 ... was an even .300 hitter in Pac-10 play, going 18-for-60.

As a Freshman in 2008: Played in 28 games, including three starts behind the plate, during his rookie campaign ... batted an even .300 (15-for-50), while showing his power potential with four doubles and three home runs in just 50 at-bats (good for a .560 slugging percentage) ... caught in 17 games overall, handling all 16 chances without an error ... blistered non-conference pitching to the tune of a .400 average (10-for-25) ... singled at Saint Mary's on March 5 for his first collegiate hit ... set his career-high for hits March 7 at Texas, going 3-for-4 with a double ... his first collegiate home run was the second of back-to-back homers in the ninth inning at Oregon State on April 13 (following Sean Ratliff) ... went 1-for-3 with a homer and a career-high 3 RBIs in Stanford's 11-10 victory over San Francisco on April 16 ... had only one postseason at-bat, but it was a memorable one ... connected for a two-out, three-run homer in the ninth inning against Georgia that brought the Cardinal within 10-8 in its final College World Series game.
