Baton Rouge, LA - The Southern University volleyball team will play their first home match of the year on Friday, September 12th. The game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in Seymour Gymnasium. The guest will be the Lady Hornets of Alabama State University.

Southern (1-4) picked up their first victory of the year after defeating the Lady Braves of Alcorn State University 3-1. Their four losses came during their participation of the Centenary College volleyball tournament. They were defeated by Central Arkansas 3-0, the University of Tulsa 3-0, Centenary College 3-1 and Nicholls State University 3-0.

The Lady Jaguars next home game will be their first conference contest as the Texas Southern University Lady Tigers come to "the bluff". The game will be on Tuesday, September 12th. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
