Baton Rouge, LA - Southern University's own Lady Jaguar, Jamila Taylor, earned the Southwestern Athletic Conference pitcher of the week honors for the week of 2/27-3/12. The 5-8, senior from Hanford, CA appeared in six games, and had an ERA of 1.00 allowing four runs in 28 innings pitched. The senior accumulated a record of 2-1 over the period with one save. She walked four and struck out 16 over six games. She held opposing batters to a .186 averaging when she was on the mound.

Taylor also received a notable for the past week. She completed the five game stretch with a 3-2 record, 32.1 innings pitched, one base on balls and 16 strikeouts.
