SOUTHERN SOCCER FALLS IN FIRST HOME CONTEST

Divinity Bradley has 28 saves in the first two games of the season.

Aug. 31, 2007

Baton Rouge, LA--Divinity Bradley recorded 13 saves as the Lady Jaguars fell to the University of Louisiana at Monroe 2-0 in their first home game of the 2007 season.

"The ladies played exceptional well, they never gave up and played all 90:00 minutes," said head coach John Knighten. "We have been concentrating on our defense a lot but now we have to start working on our offense."

Bradley put up another double digit performance as she had 13 saves off of 30 shots. The Warhawks managed to get two balls in the back of the net as ULM's Sara Islas and Kendall Dawkins each recorded their first goals of the year.

"Divinity has been playing extremely well, we are really proud of her," Knighten said. "She has 28 saves in the last two games so I think she is already in midseason form."

Alabama State transfer Meghan Podrecca led the Blue and Gold in shots with three.

Southern will travel to Thibodaux, LA on Sunday, September 2nd for a 2:00 p.m. showdown with Nicholls State University. Their next home game will be on Tuesday September 4th when they welcome the Belhaven College Blazers to A. W. Mumford stadium. Game time is set for 3:00 p.m.
