Hurricane Rita Causes Postponement of Volleyball Contests

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Senior Associate Director of Athletics/SWA Sonya Varnell announced that the volleyball matches between Southern Miss and Tulsa (Sept. 23) and SMU (Sept. 25) have been postponed because of travel difficulties surrounding Hurricane Rita.

Southern Miss was scheduled to play at Tulsa on Friday, but with the approaching hurricane could not get the flight changed to accommodate team travel in getting to Tulsa and back to Hattiesburg for the Sunday match against SMU.  The SMU match has been tentatively rescheduled for Oct. 11 at 7 p.m., in the Payne Center.
