HOUSTON, Texas -- - The women's indoor track team heads into day two in sixth-place, while the men's team is in seventh-place following the first day's action at the Conference USA Indoor Champions in Houston, Texas.

Tanika Liburd successfully defended her indoor long jump title, posting a mark of 20'3.75". Ashley May added four points for the Eagles with her fifth-place finish in the long jump with a jump of 19'0". Liburd also advanced to the finals of the 60-meter dash after posting a time of 7.55.

Ashley Reyer had a strong finish in the 800 meters, vaulting herself from third to second in the pentathlon with 3,801 points.

The men's team had several performers advance to finals today. Racive Grant advanced in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.87 and followed that performance in the 200 meters, advancing to the finals with a time of 21.88.

Cornelius Ducan ran a time of 48.46 in the 400 meters and advanced to the finals. Marvin Pinnock advanced to the finals of the 800 meters after posting a time of 1:54.77.

Rodney Gray advanced to the finals of the 60-meter hurdles after posting a time of 8.34.

The distance medley relay team finished fifth. Leonard McLeggon stands in seventh-place after day one of the heptathlon with 2,682 points.
