Oxford, Miss. - The Lady Eagle tennis team competed in the second day of the Ole Miss Fall Classic, advancing only one.

Grace Kammerer was defeated by Troy's Suzanne Jones, 6-3, 7-5, and Lauren Gutterman was defeated by Florencia Torres of North Florida, 6-1, 6-4. Stephanie Dellocono lost to Elizabeth Wood of Ole Miss, 6-4, 6-3.

Ali Blackett recorded the only win of the day for the Lady Eagles, defeating Caroline Jouanin of Troy, 6-3, 6-1. She will take on Troy's Jones on Sunday at noon.

In consolation play, Sherry Price lost to Outi Jarvinen of Arkansas-Little Rock and Brittany Serret lost to Ann Kristen Siljestrom of Middle Tennessee.

In doubles, Dellocono and Gutterman lost to Nika Koukhartchouk and Carlin Cochran of Ole Miss, 8-4. Serret and Blackett were defeated by Middle Tennessee's Hala Sufi and Claudia Szabo, 8-1. Price and Kammerer lost to Claudia Strauss of Troy and Jelena Krivacevic of South Alabama, 8-0.

"I think that this is the best tournament that we have ever played as a team," said head coach Randy Rowley. "I am so impressed with our freshman. Our older girls are really stepping up and setting examples. I'm proud of everyone."
