Prewitt Named Third Team All-Conference USA

Lauren Prewitt had one of the finest seasons in Lady Eagle soccer history in 2004.

HATTIESBURG, Miss.— Southern Miss senior forward Lauren Prewitt was named to Conference USA’s Third Team on Tuesday.

 

Prewitt, a four-year letterwinner at Southern Miss, enjoyed one of the finest season’s in school history, finishing her season with nine goals, including three game winners, two assists and 20 points. Prewitt’s nine goals this season is tied for fifth best total in school history, matching Carly Barkley’s total of nine goals last season.

 

The honor marks the eighth time a Lady Eagle soccer player has been named to the All-Conference USA Team, as Prewitt joins Kay Beth Costilow (Third Team, 2003), Katie Adams (Second Team, 2002), Leslie Schoeplein (Second Team, 2002), Tricia Wiles (Second Team, 2001 and Third Team, 2000) Stacey Hall (Second Team, 2000) and Ginger Pringle (Third Team, 1999), as Southern Miss players selected All-Conference USA teams in the program’s history.

 

Prewitt concluded her career with 20 goals, four game-winning goals, six assists and 46 points.

 

The Southern Miss soccer team finished its season with a 5-11-1 overall mark, 1-9 in Conference USA.
